2022 Playing Room Etiquette

Please follow these playing room checker etiquette rules:

No smoking, loud talking, laughing, noise, distractions, like drumming fingers etc. (even if only a few games left in the round).

No phones in playing room (must be silenced or cut off).

Finish your games on time.  Time management is part of competitive checkers.  If you see an overtime game developing get assistance from Referee.  Referee will prompt player to make a move per minute for 10 minutes to finish on time, if no decision then a designated GM will judge overtime game a W-L-D.

Player may request their 1st game completed by a referees decision so their 2nd game of that round starts on time for equal time & fairness.

When both masters ask for a computer analysis (decision) the position must show a value of 60 points to declare the win using KingsRow.

Use time clock on slow player so you finish your game in the allotted time of 1 hour and 15 minutes per game or 2 hours and
30 minutes per round.
Set clock accordingly (37 minutes for each player).

When an endgame position repeats itself you may call the referee to count the moves, "40 Move Rule" or have a GM observe the game play moves enough as to determine if your opponent knows how to win the position.

Masters record their games.

Get opponents permission to adjust pieces, a touched piece must be played.

No spectator talking over a game or about it when opponents are playing a tournament game/round.

If a player is 15 minutes late, then the game will be forfeited. If a player is 1 hour late, then both games will be forfeited.
